Slating & Tiling

Expert slating and tiling - new coverings, re-slating and tile repairs on pitched roofs, matched sympathetically to your property.

About This Service

Slate and tile are the backbone of a traditional Scottish roof, and getting them laid right is what keeps a property watertight for generations. We carry out all slating and tiling work across Angus, Aberdeenshire and Tayside - from replacing a handful of slipped or broken slates to re-covering a full roof. We work with natural and fibre-cement slates and both concrete and clay tiles, and we take real care matching new work to older stone-built homes so the finished roof looks in keeping, not patched. Every slate and tile is fixed correctly with the right head-lap and fixings so wind and driving rain stay out.

Common Questions

Can you match the slate on my old roof?

In most cases, yes. We work with new and reclaimed slate and a range of tiles, and we take care to match the size, colour and finish so repairs and new work blend in with the existing roof rather than standing out.

Do you repair just a few slipped slates?

Absolutely - no job is too small. If a few slates have slipped or cracked we'll refix or replace them and check the surrounding area so the problem doesn't come straight back.

What's the difference between slate and tile?

Natural slate is traditional, long-lasting and suits older stone properties; concrete and clay tiles are hard-wearing and often more cost-effective on modern homes. We will talk you through what suits your roof, your property style and your budget.
